West African Resources, an SJE Group investment, has received approval from the Burkina Faso Council of Ministers for its Sanbrado Gold Project Mining Convention .
The Mining Convention sets out the fiscal and legal terms with respect to the development and operation of the Sanbrado Gold Project. The Convention is valid for the current 10-year mine life and can be renewed for additional five year periods.
Construction activities at Sanbrado are progressing well with the accommodation camp and bulk earthworks nearing completion. Development of the decline is at approximately 200m from the portal. Plant site works are well advanced with erection of CIL tanks underway.
The Sanbrado Gold Project is a high-grade gold discovery in Burkina Faso, West Africa. It is 90km east-southeast of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The Project covers an aggregate area of 116km², comprising one granted mining permit and one granted exploration licence. West African Resources, an SJE Group investment, has a 90% interest in the Sanbrado Gold Project. The Burkina Faso Government has a free-carried 10% interest in the Project. First gold from Sanbrado is expected in 2020. An April 2019 optimised feasibility study confirmed the project will produce 301,000 oz gold in the first year.
The SJE Group congratulates Mark Connelly and the rest of the Board for this milestone.
